Good day everyone,
I have a problem. My contacts list does not show all my contacts. Somehow, many of them disappeared from it. The other part of the problem is that the names of those who left in the default contacts app of my Jolla C2 phone, will not show when I hve an incoming call from them.
I have the Fossify Contacts and in this one, all my contacts are present. How could I use this app as my default Contacts app, as well how could this app be on the main activity page where the calls and messages are showing as well as how could the system use the Fossify Contacts instead of the default one?
Thank you for the inputs and help.
Eve
Hi, Eve.
Some info is missing.
What haapened before contacts disappear.?
How did you create them in the C2?
Are contacts in People app proper? With phone numbers?
It seems that Fossify uses it’s own storage.
My theory is that you didn’t import contacts with People app but Fossify. In that case you should do that now.
Then you don’t need to integrate Fossify into SFOS.
HTH.

Thank you for the answer fili.p.
I used sms import/export (from f-droid) on my old android phone and imported the vcf after I started to use the C2. Everything worked fine. Three days ago I did a backup successfully in C2 before I checked for the system update (have the latest OS version). From that moment the phone is not the ‘same’. The main problem is that my contact list is not full. The other problem is that I am not able to find how to import my original contacts list in the People app (this is the app with dark red icon with a heart in it?).
Today, i created another backup and when I want to restore the three days earlier backup file, the backup module shows only the today backup tar file. I have a 500GB card and (all) the backups (even with the 3rd party apps) are created there. I copied the three days earlier backup file to the MassStorage under the main system folders but the backup module only wants to restore the today’s backup file. PS: I searched on my computer (arch system) on MassStorage for the three days earlier backup and it is there but the today’s backup file is not there.
PS 2: How to do a factory reset. btw? Would this solve this issue?
How?
I did a backup successfully in C2 before I checked for the system update (have the latest OS version). From that moment the phone is not the ‘same’. The main problem is that my contact list is not full.
Making a backup (again: how?) should not affect the phone.

Settings => Apps => People => Import
the backup module only wants to restore the today’s backup file.
What “backup module”?

one more detail. with this weird behavior, i was signed-out off the google account and jolla account as well. now, i was able to sign-in to both accounts on the phone but the problem with the contacts and backup are still a problem.
How:
I used the sms import/export app on the old phone, then after my C2 jolla activation, installed it on the C2 and used it to import the contact list, sms messages and call logs.
Making a backup (again: how?) should not affect the phone:
I use the built-in backup function (i call it ‘module’), which saves the backup to the external sdxc card. Yes, i am aware that this must not affect the phone.
Settings => Apps => People => Import:
Thank you. Followed your instruction regarding this and was able to restore all my contacts and the incoming calls now are showing the names of the contacts again.
What “backup module”?:
The built-in Backup in the phone’s settings.
