Lets say that one finds a very much older version of Sailfish that fails to update due to it not being officially supported.
In my case I found sailfishos-osprey-release-3.2.0.12-STABLE6.zip that Mister_Magister made and even though the update to the next stop release went fine it can’t enable WLAN again after reboot.
To my knowledge there’s no fix for this in order to update to the next stop release.
My idea is to make a page where you take sailfishos-osprey-release-3.2.0.12-STABLE6.zip and drop that into the build machine that knows what to do in order to update the content.
After some time the user receives an email or even a notification somehow that the job is done and you are offered a newer zip with a working WLAN.
This should be a paid service per month depending on how fast you need the newer zip.
Three levels:
$ for waiting at least 1 day.
$$ for waiting a day.
$$$ for waiting half a day.
Note that this is just an idea, nothing that needs to look/act like this is the end.
