This port has become mostly usable! With the latest 5.0.0.72 image both incoming and outgoing calls should work reliably and the sensors are also working now.
Everyone is welcome to test this using the instructions from this thread: Mainline Linux kernel for the Jolla C2 - #5 by affe_null. It is possible to keep the original OS on your device since the image is made to boot from the SD card.
I’m not going to list all the things that work again, see my previous posts for more information. Here is a list of known issues again:
- You may still experience WiFi problems. A broken WiFi connection usually works briefly after turning WiFi off and on.
- The modem occasionally fails to start up correctly (resulting in a spinning circle), which can be resolved rebooting the phone.
- Unsupported or broken hardware features: camera autofocus, dual-SIM, jack detection, USB host mode with some devices, Bluetooth handsfree calling, WiFi hotspot and hardware video acceleration.
- On the software side, there is no usable camera app yet.
