Mail oddities that may or may not be related

Hi,

Recently migrated from an Xperia XA2 to a Jolla C2 using a backup file.

Ever since, the mail accounts (in settings/accounts) regularly claim not be signed in in my various IMAP accounts. Fetching mails however works, sending mail does not, especially for an account that is hosted by my ISP for a specific domain I own. Re-entering passwords in all the relevant places seems to help for some, but not all accounts. This all used to work flawless before the upgrade. Before considering this a bug, it would be helpful to find out whether I have made a mistake or something else is going on.

Reentering passwords is a safety feature.

No mistake, it’s a long standing bug.
Best route is to remove the account and reinstall.
I recently had problems with my device so i reflashed the OS, used a back up to restore pics/mail etc, but removed all 4 mail accounts and reinstalled them. So far, so good!

Yes that did it. One might question the point of backing up IMAP accounts if this is a long-standing bug.

I spoke too soon. I just noticed 2 notifications, 2 of my accounts are asking me to update (not signed in)…oO(sigh)Oo…

So, getting signed out randomly/automatically is by design?

No, saving password in a file is a security risk as backup file itself is not password protected.
