I am not sure what this phenomena causes. My Mail app in my C2 will not update the e-mails since July 21st, and I am also not always able to send e-mails with attachments. Sometimes the e-mails with the attachments will not be sent. In this case, when I add the attachment/s, they are not shown in the e-mail.
I tried to install K-9 and Thunderbird e-mail clients from f-droid and aurora stores to see how they work, and there was a constant Google OAuth. So, i dropped this idea.
So itās a gmail account? How have you added it, with Accounts => Google* or Accounts => General email? How do you authenticate (I guess itās all 2FA these days)?
* tbh I have no idea if thatās what you use for Gmail.
When I noticed this issue with the e-mails, i rebooted the phone several times. The reboot did not solve the problem with the e-mail.
The Incoming e-mails screen show only the last working sync state (July 21). When I manually update the incoming e-mails, the process show āupdatingā, which never ends with successful syncing of the latest e-mails.
After I noticed the problem with e-mail syncing, I also noticed (happened only once) that I was signed-out of my Jolla and Google accounts. I signed-in again to both accounts. In google using the Accounts-Google option.
After the sign-ins, I tried to send e-mails with attachments, photos in e-mails from the album or camera (i have the native app and open camera as well), in most cases I was unable to send the e-mails with the attachment/s successfully. I was able to send e-mails and e-mails with attachment/s only few times since this problem exists in my C2 phone. I also noticed that when the e-mail sending is not successful, the attachment/s are not shown in the opened e-mails.
As I noted in an earlier post, there is a Google Oauth problem. I was not able to install Thunderbird and K9 Mail from f-droid nor from the aurora store.
I do not use 2FA for my Gmail account.
The Jolla e-mail app does not freeze or crash.
The installed and defaults apps do not freeze or crash.
The phone does not freeze or crash.
Jolla shop, f-droid and aurora store are working on my C2 phone without any issues.
Else and not related to the e-mail issue as it exists almost since I started to use my new C2 phone:
I noticed that sometimes, the incoming calls are not ringing on my phone and I do not get notifications about those calls.

you recreate the Google account in the SailfishOS Setting app
then you can send emails w/o attachments with the Jolla email app?

I understand this. It looks to me that the problem is caused by the gmail that is handled by the Jolla e-mail app.

Not recreate but just signed-in to my jolla and google accounts again when i found out that I was signed-out of both accounts on my phone. Since then I was NOT dropped out of those accounts on my C2. then you can send emails w/o attachments with the Jolla email app?

First i tried to send attachment files (photos or pdfs, odt files) without success.
Then I started to use Imagepipe for sharing photos and adding them to e-mails. The photos through Imagepipe were between 200 and 600 kb but this also did not work.
The other user from the link you shared on Sony Xperia 10II with SFOS: 5.0.0.55 Tampella was able to solve that problem by updating the google account authentication in the system settings. Do you have any advise on how to do this on C2?
If you use IMAP then all mails are stored on the server. So deleting an recreate an account will not delete your mails. But when you use POP3 be carefully. In this case all emails are only on your phone. But POP3 is for me always a bad way.
If this will not fix you can contact the user by clicking on his personal icon and then ā message.

The same I did yesrerday at home, everything worked. Now - in wifi of workplace - no emails from murena = ecloud global. Strange behaviour. Can anybody help?
