HARDWARE: JPhone 2026
UI LANGUAGE: German
REGRESSION: Maybe?
DESCRIPTION:
Locally created calendar entries get overwritten when synching google calendar,
even tho they are stored on the server. This happened after I refreshed the Google token (as the calendars were not syncing from the remote side), so dont know if there is a relation between the two.
PRECONDITIONS:
STEPS TO REPRODUCE:
-
Create a local calendar entry (in a given google calendar)
-
Make sure it ends up on the server side / is visible there
-
Refresh the token
-
Sync the calendar
EXPECTED RESULT:
The locally created entries should not be deleted
ACTUAL RESULT:
The merging of the phone calendar with the remote one is somehow removing the local entries
MODIFICATIONS:
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
Configuration of account:
- sync on for mail & calendar
- Content sync disabled
This has happened a few times, but not steadily
What do you mean by “attach it to a google calendar” ? Do you export it to ICS data and import these data into a Google calendar with online service or from the device itself ?
By “attaching to a google calendar” I mean create the entry in a specific google calendar (updated).
And good point, this is actually also about invitations to events.
In that case, when I accept the invitation from the mail (by pressing “yes”), the event gets added to my calendar (on the server side). Then, I sync, and somehow it disappears from the calendar completely.
Also aligned the frequency (as in the notes I mentioned that this seems to happen only sometime)
What mail app are you using? The built-in one? (I ask because I don’t believe that one supports accepting meetings at all)
How are you syncing your calendars? Did you export to ICS and import to the native calendar app? If that’s the case I don’t believe you can sync to Google, only from.
It sounds like you may be doing something with other mail/calendar apps, so we need more information in order to help you in any meaningful way.

Correct, I am using only the mail client really (to answer “yes” to meeting requests); and no other calendar app (all my calendar entries are managed from JPhone)
Ah I see there is a built in google integration, I did not realise that was there.
Is google not syncing to a separate calendar? I have a fully local personal calendar, and everything I’ve added as an account (Nextcloud for me) shows up as separate calendars. The syncs never touch the personal calendar.
Yes, but (as stated in the bug report) I “pinned” the locally created items to the google calendar, not my own
(btw I also have NextCloud calendar enabled)
