If you’re scrolling on a website and switch apps, the browser cover continues to scroll!
I even tried framing an animated Ad and it continued to animate for 1s or 2.
This is so cool!
Is this some new compositing development for 3.4 or was it there before?
Btw. I switched back to Sailfish as my main device after 3.4 browser. Great job folks!

It has always been the case, the particularity of Meego and Sailfish OS was that apps are not frozen when minimized, and as the browser’s cover shows the actual page, if it’s animated, the cover is animated.
The cover is actually the only thing that is always living, as Jolla chose to freeze the app while picking a long time ago without giving a reason.

I recall seeing a ‘dev’ note in a file in the OS, where it says something like “animation is too expensive for covers, so for now, we leave it” - words to the effect, I think it may have been regarding animation for Transfers on the Settings cover…I’m rambling, I need coffee.
