Let's boost sales to achieve 10'000 J2!

Only 3306 units remain to be sold before unlocking The-Other-Half :star_struck:
Let us join forces to reach this milestone with listing some ideas to speed things up:

  • Contact your local newspaper or blog

Don’t hesitate to edit my reply to keep the thread clean.

I’ve sent out to a couple of publications and made a reddit post with a fair amount of traffic on it.
So far no response from the publications, but the reddit post has 700+ upvotes and 110k views, so that’s something.

@pherjung Kuketz-Blog would be important imho. I’m sure they’ll accept an english mail, but if you want I can translate (and send if so desired) any text you have for me.

I hope that if we don’t get to 10000 by end of January, hopefully they will extend the timeline over FOSDEM! I am hopeful that the pre-order speed will increase as holidays start to be soon over, but that could be the last push

I contacted the newspaper Le Temps. Let’s hope they write something about alternative OS and Sailfish OS

Ok, Galaxus had already wrote an article about Sailfish!

Thanks!
(I can’t reach the other languages pages but I added the English version to the articles page)

It’s one of those “helpful” sites that immediately redirects you to the language your browser calls its own.
One can explicitely switch languages by clicking on the :gear: near the top.
So any of the 4 links above should do for the wiki.

For me it’s a little sad that the first words are “Like Android” but I liked the quick history. And it’s interesting to see what “normal” people think, e.g.:

Currently, Sailfish OS can only be installed on a few [smartphones] - and less conveniently than GrapheneOS or /e/OS.

Apart from selling phones with the OS preinstalled, is it really that much worse on SFOS?

does installation of grapheneos not entail similar steps of manually flashing the phone? I don’t understand what the author means by “less conveniently” either

ahh, I just realised grapheneos has a webusb installer. I guess that makes it a little simpler, but still, manually flashing isn’t rocket science

Where I could buy it?

@Jalle Search the web for Google Pixel 8 or Google Pixel 9 or order in your mobie phone store if it’s not on stock.

I think maybe you meant to tag wickedsp1d3r? either way I’m not the biggest graphene fan (I will avoid going OT, you can imagine why), but thank you regardless :slightly_smiling_face:
