Launcher opens wrong app

REPRODUCIBILITY: 2%? Rarely, but enough to be noticeable
OS VERSION: 5.0.0.55
HARDWARE: Jolla C2
UI LANGUAGE: English
REGRESSION: I never had this with other SFOS phones and/or previous versions of SFOS.

DESCRIPTION:

I click an icon to open an app, but another app is opened. It is not a miss-click, because the other app’s icon is not always near, and this can happen with my hand far from the screen. I use a case, so it isn’t small bezels or something.

PRECONDITIONS:

I am not sure, but I think you need App Support or a lot of installed apps.
When this happens, it happens to apps located at the bottom of the app launcher, where mostly android apps are.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE:

  1. Swipe from below to open the launcher
  2. Click an icon at the bottom to open an app

EXPECTED RESULT:

The corresponding app is opened

ACTUAL RESULT:

Another app opens

MODIFICATIONS:

Chum and openrepos.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

Can’t think of any

I have been getting this with AppSupport-based apps, haven’t experienced it with native apps. I don’t think there is any correlation to where they are located, as for example I have Home Assistant Android app in my main row, Proton Pass in my second row, Aurora in a Store folder in my last row.

In my case, it will always launch the last Android app I had open. I then have to close the app and try again, after which point it launches the correct app. A tad annoying as I regularly need to fire up Proton Pass to grab a password, and suddenly I’ll be launched into OmaPosti because I’ll be checking the tracking status of a package.

I had it and the launcher seemedto start the last opened android app rather the one i wanted to

As others hinted at, which apps exactly are involved. Both the icon you tap and the app that opens.

Others might see a pattern there even if you don’t.
