I added an new Finnish article from Yle, includes a video clip also featured in the evening news. The article is about the former Nokia manufacturing facility in Salo, wich is still thriving with new companies. Jolla is one of them, doing the final assembly of the Jolla phone there.

That is indeed very very nice thing! I hope that many public administrations will make sensible decision and ditch duopoly for European solution!
Now it is definitely good change for Jolla to grow being really third option for everyone.

Just found: Jolla haastaa puhelinjätit lupaamalla yksityisyyttä | HS.fi . Article in Finnish but very good read. Best part, Sami estimated revenue to be 12-14M€ in 2026 and Jolla to make profit 
In 2024 Jolla made 1M€ in revenue. That probably includes only phone side, but still huge leap forward! Unfortunately haven’t seen 2025 figures. Aim for this year is 20k phones, which is already 10x from initial goal
Can’t dear to imagine what will be the situation next year, would imagine Jolla team to grow considerable and brake this years phone sale quantities! I just hope they keep their foots on the ground and don’t start to go too adventurous. They mentioned their own VPN and cloud solutions, which are good, but I hope they don’t spread too thinly and keep focus what is the most important thing here, our beloved SailfishOS <3

Very good, honest, and professional video. I have a question about the camera: does it use Camera API 2.0 and offer it to Android apps as well? If so, then the OpenCamera Android app could use it, allowing HDR/DRO and saving in RAW, etc.
I can still use HDR with OpenCamera on the Jolla C2, and it takes pictures that are comparably good to those on my coworker’s Samsung Galaxy A56.
So, this option could be a way to improve picture quality until Jolla updates their camera-app.
Maybe you can test the differences on the J2 with OpenCamera. I should be getting my J2 today, and I’ll test it too and report back here.

Not too familiar with the Open Camera app, but found I was able to change it to Camera2 API (wasn’t the default) and at least that made the viewfinder responsive, so that’s nice.
Here is an album of DNG raws, DRO JPG, HDR jpg from my Immich for comparison: Public Share
The DNG looked as expected in Darktable, so looks like this will be a good option for the camera. In my testing for the video I was simply using either stock Camera app or Advanced Camera.

I hope that with the regular shipping of at least batch 1, the deafening silence even among media that has previously reported about the preorder, will come to an end.

They were all with the primary camera and all with OpenCamera + camera2 API (set via the app).
