+1 Bluetooth BLE is greyed out and cannot be activated. This is on the X10iii with Stumblefish v 0.1.8
I think it makes it visible for other devices? Like if you would try to connect two phones, usually phones don’t appear on the list. But this is just my guess, not knowledge
Could be. It doesn’t seem to make a difference to pairing with car audio.
Having removed and reinstalled the app Stumblefish now lets me scan for BLE beacons. Hmmm ![]()
Can you see devices in Settings → bluetooth page reliable?
sorry i’m not daily driving my JP just yet, and haven’t really played with Bluetooth on it yet. I just noticed the same issue as you in Stumblefish on the X10iii
For me, simply turning on/off Airplane Mode - works in 8 out of 10 cases. The other two cases are split between Cold Start the device and restarting only Bluetooth.
I need Cold Start (no Reboot) for Searching for Devices.
What does cold start mean?
Whaaat, black magic. I have tried couple full restarts with the phone and tens of restarts from utilities. Now suddenly with once setting phone to flight mode and off bluetooth seems fully functional! I hope you sir have just brilliant day! ![]()
Edit. well that happiness lasted around 1min xD After back in situation where I can’t find any Bluetooth devices and Stumblefish lost the BLE (it was active for a minute).
Cold Start mean : Power Off the Device, wait 10 seconds , Power on the Device
Thank you for the info! I have only tested reboot so far, have to try that also
I have a Withings Scanwatch that runs on BLE. To ensure a stable Bluetooth connection, the app must remain open. Additionally, in the Sailfish app settings (not Android), background services must be allowed to run. This keeps the connection relatively stable for me, and I receive about 90% of all notifications on my watch.
Pairing new devices is a different challenge altogether. For me, it only works after a cold start. Then I can search for new devices once—but only once.
I didn’t manage to pair JP2 with the car at first, but after @andreyv tip I did the pairing from the car side. Pairing was successful (phone, music), but neither phone nor music works.
This bug is weird as hell..
1st connection to BT in car worked.. then 2nd start didn’t connect to car radio automatically. Manually worked.
After I came home and wanted to pair my BT speaker it’s not possible.
Restarting bluebinder also bluetooth services didn’t help.
Restart bluetooth service, can search new devices, unfortunately they disappears after few seconds, and pairing is not possible :-/
I didn’t think, that BT can be worse than on Xperia 10V, unfortunately is ![]()
Agreed. I almost hoped that the situation had stabilised itself, but alas! Had to reset BT multiple times, turn off AAS, turning it on crashed BT, restarting BT. Connecting to JBL headset failed multiple times despite of the resets. After multiple resets and whatnots, I disconnected the pairing, paired the headset again and now it’s connected.
I like the thing that I can sync my Withings watch with the phone, but oh deer these kind of hurdles makes me think that I just want to uninstall the BT support (beta) and live without the constant BT battle.
I’ve also experience bluetooth problems (fresh Jolla 2026). When device/speaker gets disconnected (I turn it off) another connection isn’t possible (status show connected/disconnected changes 0,5s rate).
Simplest method to get it back is to turn off bluetooth (maby not once…)
Same with pairing. Turn off bluetooth (dragged from above), long-press to pair. Should show searching bar in bluetooth preferences.
Ok, had enough of restarts etc. uninstalled the AppSupport Bluetooth, rebooted phone (turn off - turn on). Let’s see how the bluetooth keeps up.
@abranson I played a little bit more with this. If I don’t have connection to my Oura, then I can search and find other Bluetooth devices. If Oura is connected, then I can’t find or connect to any other Bluetooth device. And the oura ring doesn’t appear in the settings → Bluetooth view at all.
Same Oura worked with Xperia 10 III in similar setup without problem. Probably bug in either newer version of AAS Bluetooth or generally in Bluetooth with Jolla phone. I can send more logs, but when I run the command, if only saves logs from last 2min or so. With further guidance I can take some more.
