@Seven.of.nine, You are right questioning this. I did.t join because I am not techsavvy enough. Yet I am interested and it surprised me that Jolla was using Zoom. When having a family meeting we always use a Jitsi instance and it works perfect. If it works with large groups I don’t know There are more privacy friendly options,but they mostly require some payment. Possibly this is Jolla’s problem. I was equally surprised of Jolla using Shopify, a despicable data thief. This has nothing to do with ‘ideology’, it’s a matter of princple and consequently of trustworthyness.

An official coöperation with Fairphone is a passed station I think. Fairphone now coöperates wit the e/foundation. It’s business and marketing. Yet there are more options. Volla 22 is a Gigaset that you can open yourself and change the battery. Everything fixed with screws, repairs possible. Imo the thing is /e/ is just another android, sailfish is a complete different thing. That’s why they choosed it instead of sailfish
They stated in the j1 times, that they would have loved to have sailfish but they need to be 100% sure they earn money and sailfish was too much of a gamble

I know that the Waag in Amsterdam (thinktank and hub where the idea of Fairphone was born) was interested in Sailfish during the time of J1 and that there have been talks but I don’t remember an official post by Jolla about the result. ‘Money’ or a different business model or a licence issue, this seems plausible indeed.
Yes, e/OS is Android like all de-googled systems. Boring, not beautiful, but it works.

Yes, I remember there was an initial effort for collaboration, but has not gone any further since Oct 2015.
