It’s their automotive business that keeps them profitable. I remember years ago when Jolla said that they finally made a profit because of automotive. The question is how the phone and the AI parts of their business are doing. The AI seems to be mainly focused on a B2B model like their automotive [branch], and I think they got some EU funding for it as well, so I assume it’s also relatively profitable. The phone side is the big question here (it really also depends on how they split dev costs and if they have done any “creative accounting”).
The automotive business doesn’t affect at all for Jolla’s numbers anymore. Seafarix is completely isolated from it as a sister company after 2023 reconstruction. Latest public numbers are from 2024 and that wasn’t profitable year for Seafarix either: Seafarix Oy | Yritys- ja taloustiedot | Kauppalehti yrityshaku
So I would be very surprised if anything else than Jolla Mobile Oy | Yritys- ja taloustiedot | Kauppalehti yrityshaku is included in that statement from Sami. To my knowledge, he is only CEO of Jolla Mobile Oy. AI stuff is a little bit question mark for me, my understanding has been that it has also been splitted to different company, Venho.ai, but didn’t find any confirmation for that. So might be that AI stuff is included in Jolla Mobile Oy numbers.
Would really love them to publish the numbers from 2025 tho ![]()
Edit. 2020 when Jolla made first profitable year it probably was thanks to automotive industry + Russian licensing. Jolla Oy | Yritys- ja taloustiedot | Kauppalehti yrityshaku But as can be seen from charts business took a hit when they stopped the licensing in Russia during 2021 and ramped down all operations there. Good thing was that they were able to make profit 2022, probably thanks to automotive industry, but that didn’t transfer to Seafarix numbers just yet. Hopefully soon Seafarix also takes off in European automotive industry as I hate to see those Google OSs playing in European cars…
well they split them up on paper while keeping them operationally intertwined, they are even sharing the same building. Its a classic setup to isolating risk for smaller tech corpos. By putting automotive (Seafarix) into its own legal entity, a heavy downturn, liability issue, or contract restructuring on the automotive side doesn’t automatically sink the consumer/community-facing mobile side, and vice versa. It’s a clean firewall for investors and creditors.
Because they still share the exact same codebase and engineering pool (like AppSupport), it doesn’t really matter practically…. all of this is just for accounting, tax, and legal stuff (usually referred to as corporate restructuring, asset partitioning, or liability isolation).
in short, just creative accounting stuff
Exactly, but doesn’t bring either any money to Jolla’s books. So I would imagine the profit and revenue heavily now comes from Jolla phone. In 2025 summer community meeting in Plevna Sami and Antti said that over 90% of Jolla’s revenue comes from B2B, imagine how tables have turned now…
According to this article it’s exactly the new phone that brings the turnover:
“Uusien laitteiden myötä liikevaihto nousee 12–15 miljoonaan euroon.”

You are wasting your time and energy explaining math and logic on this forum.
I’ve also made this mistake in the past.
If they want to believe that 10.000 preorders for an average unit cost of about 560€, VAT included, amounts to 15.000.000€ in revenue, there is nothing you can say to convince them otherwise.
You are wasting your breath.
Simple addition from numbers we already know should be fine, though. Which gives us 15,000 J2 à 550 money and 10,400 C2 à 250 money gives 11M money already in turnover. So ballpark figure is definitely in correct neighbourhood.
Add 10,000 subscriptions à 50 money gives another 0.5M money.
I think that C2 number might be a bit high. Preorders were done on the old platform, whilst final payments were taken on the new, and we know that JP preorders started around #4xxx so surely C2 sales are around that quantity?
Where did you come up with all those numbers? ![]()
Might well be, since C2 sales is probably slowing down significantly, but not too much, now, with the deliveries of J2 starting. The statement from CEO Sami was already spring last year they saw continued sales of 200 C2 per week. So that is the latest given number I know of.
Like I said adding given numbers to get to a ballpark turnover you disregarded as unrealistic. Adapting to your style of averaging the per unit and correcting your J2 number to a given one. Or are you pulling my leg by saying you don’t recognise addition as simple math?
Oh, so you made them up. ![]()
Well, then why did you stop at those numbers? Why not invent even bigger numbers?
Why didn’t you just say 1.000.000 phones at 550€? That would be even more impressive: 550.000.000€ ![]()
So quick math:
Someone could make better average price estimation bu here is one quick estimation, all prices without VAT, used Finnish 25,5%… Smaller VAT gives Jolla bigger revenue. Batch sizes and prices came from my memory…
1st batch 2700 units, price ~400€ (500€ with VAT)
2nd batch 2200 units, price ~440€ (550€ with VAT)
3rd batch 5100 units(?), price ~460€ (580 with VAT)
2700x400€+2200x440€+5100x460€ = 4,394M€
After that let’s round and Jolla has sold 5000 units witg average price of ~558€ (700€ with VAT)
5000x558 = 2,79M€
Then let’s through rough estimation that everyone has spent maybe ~40€ (50 with VAT) for accessories
15000x40€ = 600k€
Shipping ~15€ (with VAT 18€) adds 225k€
At this point we are at 8M€. If we add 5000 units for this year, we are at 11M€. I imagine that Jolla has gotten some EU funding or similar also this year. I’m sure they have done some B2B business also. But if we are at 8-11M€ by only B2C Jolla phones, that is quite big chunk of their yearly revenue
Calculating your way with order numbers we get more than 28,000 orders since December which basically is two times the known number of preordered J2s. This can be accessories to some extent, but for ballpark totals they can count as subscriptions since 20-30 money per item.
And then we have five moths left of the year. Thus I don’t think this is at all off in magnitude for a simple calculation.
The expected 12M…15M is probably for the fiscal year Jolla expect to start selling those 50k..100k phones mentioned in the linked news story.
That’ll never happen of course. Once the first 15k new users see this wretched hive of scum and villany (i.e. this forum) they will immediately buy iPhones.
12-15M€ of revenue, not profit ![]()
50k units would generate with current pricing something like ~28M€ in revenue all by itself.
I assume you answered to Kenny? If you have any better guess, be my quest please.
15k phones are already almost sold and we know the prices. 50k is Jolla’s goal for next year
No, that reply was for you. The people who moved it lost the replied-to link to your post.
You are making up numbers, just like the other guy.
So, you are not accepting numbers reported by Jolla, because they differ from the ones that you think are right?
You are not very credible, you know.
