Dear German Colleagues who can’t come to the Jolla C2 Support Day in Berlin on 14.11.2024 but have an Jolla C2 which need reflash - please ask @rainemak if it would be an valid option to send the devices to me, we flash them on 14.11.2024 and send them back to you. So you will avoid to send it to Finland and got your re-flashed C2 much earlier,
Its only my idea, i don’t know how @Jolla and @rainemak see it. But if they agree with this scenario - i’m happy to help the community and take care of logistics.
This would be a great idea as I can’t make it to Berlin in person. @rainemak : Would this be feasible for you/Jolla? I would like to avoid another 14 days shipping cycle and sending the device within Germany is currently extremely fast.
I now also have the hanging boot at the security code screen… and I guess there is no more option other then reflashing… or can we do the reflash ourselves?
A JC battery instead of a J1 battery would be better
The spare HTC battery I had still works in my J1 and generic batteries from the same model can be bought online without problems.
JC battery is another thing. I looked yesterday for a spare online and did not find anything. Nothing. Niente. Nada.
JC works when being plugged in and without battery, but well…you depend on a powerbank.
I talked to @rainemak and he think, sending the devices to me to Berlin would be valid option.
Very important:
The devices need to be sent on Monday or at least Tuesday, so they arrive before Thursday 14.11.2024.
If you send them to me please write your Name, Address, Jolla account name, Order ID and Zendesk Request Number.
Update your Zendesk Request with the information, that you send the device to me for the Reflash on Thursday. Add the Tracking Number to the Zendesk Request.
I want avoid, that information will be missing and Jolla guys have problems to find it.
So lets do it the way
Contact me via PM - i will give you my private address. @PatsJolla and others who want to do it - just contact me.
It could be a very bussy evening (even for lucky ones like me) because getting a 10G root partion requires reflashing (even of running devices), see [Release notes] Tampella 5.0.0.29 for Jolla C2
O.k. I will stay patient (so don’t worry, sailors)
