Jolla C2 reboot loop

Hi,

This morning I wanted to start up my jolla C2, after it had been switched off for approximately 4 weeks. The phone did not start up, instead it is in a reboot loop now, displaying the startup screen (“C2 SAILFISH OS”) for about 5 min, then a black screen and reboot. I cannot even switch it off. My only hope so far is that the battery will be empty after some time and the phone turns off on its own.

This situation lasts for 5 hours now. Any ideas how to break the reboot loop and (hopefully) start the phone normally? Or at least start it in recovery mode? Any idea why this happens?

Thanks in advance

Dies any volume/power combo helps?

No. I tried several:

  • Both Volume buttons + Power Button
    • switches the phone off and leaves it that way until buttons are released. Then the reboot loop starts again.
  • Volume down + Power Button
    • reboots into a “fast boot” mode. But then the startup screen appears and the reboot loop starts again
  • Volume up + Power Button, release Power button after the screen turned black (but keep Volume up pressed for some more time)
    • reboots into recovery mode, which needs to be confirmed once with Volume down Button. Maybe the most interresting option, but then the startup screen appears again and nothing else happens. At least no reboot loop, just nothing and the startup screen forever.

Now the battery is empty and the phone is off. When I plug it on charge, it starts immediately and performs the reboot loop again.

I hope that someone more knowledgeble will also respond but personally I think that Zendesk is the optimal option in your case.
You can reflash it alone but that will erase phone data.
