I cannot get Volte to work with my C2, using Sosh (Orange) in France (registration is stuck in activating mode, never active).
Is it an issue with me, or with the provider ? Is there something to configure somewhere ?
Regards,
Julien

Works on non-Sosh Orange on the C2 for me, in either of the SIM slots. I didn’t have to configure anything. I wonder if there’s some enabling that has to happen on their side? Maybe try calling Sosh and asking if they support the C2? I remember trying with an Xperia once but they refused to believe it wasn’t running Android.
I’m no expert on this, so take my statement with a big grain of salt, but I think that on VoLTE some operators use whitelists, so some exotic devices and non-stock OS won’t work. So it’s really no fault on Jolla or SFOS side, sadly.
I remember one person on the Xperia VoLTE thread actually threatened legal action. At least on the C2 Sailifsh is technically the stock OS!
I started by asking for support at sosh. Will see how it evolves and keep you informed.
I remember such exchanges well. According to xkcd there’s a magic word you have to use to get a Linux user on the phone.
As expected, the support has not been very helpful. They told me that my current plan does not support volte. I’ve borrowed an iphone to check if that’s actually true (hadven’t had the time yet).
When at the same time they’re starting their 2G shutoff in December, with 3G following in 2028!
So, here are the results of the tests:
I now expect it to be broken as soon as orange will realize it’s no longer an iphone which is connected… But there’s not much sfos can do there i’m afraid.
