Hi everyone. I’d really like to use my C2 as my everyday phone. But I keep having to switch to my Xperia 10 III, or even the Pixel 9 Pro with GrapheneOS. I travel a lot for work, which means I’m constantly switching between mobile networks and different Wi-Fi networks. The C2 has this annoying problem where the network keeps freezing. It’s especially problematic when I’m driving. It’s always running the latest SFOS version (currently 72). Suddenly, nothing works at all. Even restarting the network services doesn’t help. Only a complete restart fixes it. This happens several times a day. It’s really not practical. Is there a workaround yet? Or do I just have to wait for the next update? I don’t have these problems with my Xperia. However, I’m a big fan of larger devices. And if you keep them properly maintained, they generally run smoothly. I sincerely hope this gets improved. Thanks for any replies ![]()
Strange. My C2 works great in that regard. Even roaming is improved comparing previous phones (several Xperias).
My C2 is also running the latest, .72, and although it has improved a lot conpared to the initial version it had, sometimes I still have to restart network services when moving between SSIDs or when it is connected to the same SSID for a long time and in between theres a temporary disconnect on the AP side (power, etc).
I believe this can be linked to the issue faced by others reported at:

Yes. It’s a significant improvement over the original version. However, there’s still room for improvement in that regard. I hope this will be addressed. I can’t just grab my smartphone and do these things while driving. Safety regulations and the police have a problem with that… I really hope this feature will be added later. At the latest with the Jolla Phone
But I’m happy for the C2 to continue being maintained…
Seeing so many people having this issue, I assumed it would be a software bug. Nonetheless, I requested support or replacement through zendesk. I haven´t heard anything so far (it has been months now, so I am way too patient). In the meantime, I switched to the 10V as daily driver, that works almost flawlessly for me.
I did reflash my C2, but the issues persisted even with a fresh install with as little as possible done after setup (no AAS for example). I still have connection issues with roaming, wifi that works unreliably, and that gets unusable with bluetooth turned on for some reason, and more.
Seeing reports of users saying they don’t have connection issues, makes me question my C2 situation.
Looking at the other threads and based on my own experiences with the bug, it’s likely caused by having WPA2+WPA3 encryption on your router. With pure WPA2 encryption, the bug doesn’t seem to get triggered.
I double-checked, but it is WPA2 only, and has been since initial setup 3 years ago.
(reasons are probably bogus, but I was thinking of weakest link and apparent safety, and having WPA2 as fallback diminishing the positive addition of WPA3).
Great suggestion though. Thanks.
