Solution for all of us with a problem PIN lock loop is thera reflashnig with 5.0.0.21, because all of problematic devecise was with 5.0.0.5, and now we can wait for publishing factory image from Jolla, correctly in shop.jolla.com/downloads like as others devcies befor, isnt?

Mine is in superposition right now…
Like quantum particle…
But you cannot determine it’s state as the circle rotates…

Jolla doesn’t offer installable images for the Jolla-branded devices (and apparently there is no functional recovery mode on the C2 anyway). If the C2 doesn’t work properly, you need to return it because you won’t be able to make it work.

You are the first person for whom everything has worked.
I can’t enter anything on my device. Touch does not work.

You are the first person for whom everything has worked.

Got my device on the 22nd of October and aside from calling / SMS not being fully functional, Android apps not working on cellular data, and issues which have been filed (e.g. camera freezing on video) things have been fine for me as well. The update from .5 to .21 also worked flawlessly.

Of course, most people that don’t encounter any issues are less likely to post about their experience because it’s likely otherwise not really notable. Those that are will almost certainly get drowned out by the unfortunate issues you folks are facing, which seems pretty reasonable to me.

I received mine a couple of days ago, the battery was 70% charged, I let it charge more before booting up, everything run smoothly including the upgrade to .21, by default I am using an 8-digit unlock code. The initial setup was done without SIM. Developer mode is enabled, 4G connectivity seems to work (not receiving calls tho).

Have you tried usb mouse ?
Some claimit helps

thanks for the tip.
I managed to get through the setup. After I finished it, I rebooted the device (without a usb-c mouse connected, to make sure everything was working fine) but now it is stuck on entering the security code!!

Hi why can i do I do not receive the cover and the glass potector.
i sent an email to jolla but no answer

Here’s a wild thought. What if the issue is that QC at reeder did a quick factory setup on the phones and used the famous 00000 as the encryption key? Then wiped or triggered the set up menu again but the original encryption remained enforced?

I’m thinking setting up my device first time with 00000 and later change the pin? Does that sound stupid?

UK user here, without USB Windows keyboard and USB to Go adapter from Pixel phone would have got nowhere as no onscreen keyboard available. Phone received with battery at 50% so charged to 100% before booting (No SIM). Whilst curser visible needed USB keyboard to enter WLAN password but didn’t seem to want to connect, although after after accessing “Advanced settings” it suddenly established connection enabling firmware update to 5.0.0.21.
I didn’t want to try re-booting until firmware updated so don’t know whether just reboot on initial version would have brought keyboard up.

Mine came (powered off) with 50% charge.

I charged it to 100% before turning on.

I don’t know if this is relevant but on boot up, at the language selection screen, i was delayed before i selected ‘English’, and I think the screen changed slightly from the ambient orange text colour to white.

I had no issues apart from F-Droid and Aurora store not installing.

I proceeded to update Sailfish, which went through fine

At the restart, i attempted to install F-Droid through from the browser, but was thwarted as it was deemed Untrusted software, so i went into Settings to Allow Untrusted Software, and saw the Aurora Store launcher appear in the app grid without any further prompt (aside from selecting it in the initial setup, on the previous session)

I received my C2 in Switzerland. As always with customs fees.
Battery charge 40%, started C2, ran the tutorial, took the first steps and installed update 5.0.0.21. My C2 works so far, but often gets stuck (app doesn’t respond, wait or close).
Some app functions are missing.
There are no answers on sfos forum.
No audio output on the Kaffcountry radio app (Great Circle Media).
No audio output with the app Chime me big ben free.
Nevertheless, I’m slowly starting to enjoy my C2.

I passed the first boot up with no issues, but did not perform a reboot until now. Is it recommend to do the update to .21 directly? Or should I do the reboot now and update aftermath?

I don’t assume it’s a matter of restarting the C2.
I even ran out of battery because I didn’t connect the charger correctly.
In any case, the C2 runs a lot better after the update to 5.0.0.21.
The “Reset device” option is missing in the settings.
It only goes forward, not back.

An interesting symptom. C2 was OK, updated to .21, worked after many reboots. However, originaly set up with English (US) keyboard and 2.4G WiFi. Then I added Slovenian keyboard (but not activated), connected to 5G WiFi (weak signal but worked), and started Developer mode. Unfortunatelly, all three changes at once. Then reboot and touchscreen become unresponsive on PIN. I moved next to router and another reboot, but the same. Then turn on the hotspot on another phone - this was already tested earlier today and therefore known to C2. Reboot, touchscreen worked and phone started connected to hotspot (although it was connected to 5G when last time rebooted). This looks like 5G WiFi is not good on reboot, or just coincidence. Hm, I am not brave enough to repeat the test, what if touchscreen will not be activated? Note: Slovenian keyboard does not show even if it is explicitly selected in settings.

EDIT: So, for those who cannot connect to WiFi during setup, maybe hotspot (on another SailfishOS) could work? Unfortunatelly, to late for you already proceeded without WiFi. For all others, connect to hotspot on your old SailfishOS as soon as possible, it may save you.
