REPRODUCIBILITY (% or how often):
BUILD ID = OS VERSION (Settings > About product): v4.1.0.24
HARDWARE (XA2, X10, X10 II, …): Jolla C
UI LANGUAGE: English
REGRESSION: (compared to previous public release: Yes, No, ?):

DESCRIPTION:

After charging the phone I removed the charger - message as always “unplug the charging…” - but display. which was on during charging, dimmed to about 50% and stayed at that independent of any activities - touching, pressing buttons…
So I removed the battery and tried to reboot the phone, but the phone did not boot up.

PRECONDITIONS:

Phone was charged fully and removed from charger.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE:

  1. press Power-Button

EXPECTED RESULT:

Phone shall boot

ACTUAL RESULT:

no reaction

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

removed battery waited a day or so - still no boot

What kind of reaction on plugging in the charger?

No reaction at all :frowning:

Definitely HW failure but could be battery or phone itself, I would say.

I had my JollaC be capable of running without battery at all.
So maybe pull battery and plug in charger then…

Does not work without the battery either.
But it seems, as if the USB connector does not go in as far as I would expect it…

So maybe (hopefully) just dust inside and battery was not charged and just ran out ?
Good luck with cleaning. There are some posts here or on TJC or TMO.
I normally use ear tips (wooden dent picks) and isopropanol alcohol
