Hi.
I’m Japanese.
I tried to install flick keyboard and hardware keyboard for Japanese input.
It looks like both patches from storeman did not work (patchmanager ended up with 'patch activation failed).
I’m seeking the way to activate them or any other way to use Japanese input with flick key and/or BT keyboard.
Is there any ongoing project or workaround to avoid errors in the patch manager ?
Hi,
I wrote a fix for the patch itself some 4 years ago here : GitHub - razcampagne/jolla-kbd-flick-jp: Japanese flick-style keyboard for Sailfish OS
But since then the flick part was broken by another sfos update so I think you’re stuck with the standard keyboard+anthy.
If I have time I might have a look but I can’t promise anything.
Hello,
I am one of the developers of the sfos-ja initiative. Currently I don’t have any Sailfish OS devices to develop or test patches on to keep developing the keyboard, but with a bit of help, I could fix the patch or make do a pull request to an already existing one to keep this project afloat.
I could also invite developers willing to take over the development into the sfos-ja github organization. Let me know if you’re willing to assist me in this.
I’m not a developer (at least for mobile devices). I don’t think i can help. Alternatively could anyone here suggest to improve prediction in Japanese input? Since SFOS is a linux, could I install e.g. IbusSKK?
A quick update here. I have booted up my old Xperia 10 II and I’m updating it to 4.6.0 Sauna release. I thought the battery was done for but seems like it’s still usable. I’ll see if I can get an update for 4.6.0 release at least. For 5.0.0 Tampella (if you have a Jolla C2) I can make no promises, but if I can find someone who has the device and can help me get the required files needed to develop the flick patch, I could hopefully release an update for that as well. Will see how it goes and I’ll keep you posted!
EDIT: Scratch that, seems like 5.0.0 is available for this device so I can make an update for 5.0.0!
