Is there a way to get android notifications all the time?

i want to be able to get notifications from fb messenger or whatsapp without having to run them on my homescreen all the time? Is it possible?

Find the app’s icon in Settings>Apps, and enable ‘Allow background services to start on bootup’ at the top.

MicroG solved my WhatsApp notification delivery problems.

Yes, that’s a good piece of additional info. Some apps that are built to use Google services can’t handle their own incoming notifications and rely on that instead. So you’ll need MicroG to get notifications from those. Sometimes you can get non-Google versions of those apps though. It used to be the case that you could download a different version of Whatsapp from their website that would work without those services.
