So, yt-dlp guys (same as everyone else) experience the same problem and they noticed it’s not yet present if using tv client so i’ve also switched the library to tv client and now its working again. It won’t work forever, it will break eventually but maybe it will buy me enough time to implement the new player

Yeah sometimes opengl context bugs out but its impossible to tell if its sfos’s fault or my fault and debugging it is even harder so i don’t bother 
I think it seems to happen if you turn off your device’s screen and the device goes to sleep (nothing is playing) but not sure yet
I also experience that from time to time. I don’t know if it’s a microtube bug or one coming from the OS.
It could even be that its a OS bug that microtube just happens to expose like 6 other bugs

Yep, and youtube are doing it on purpose.
This is why most people base their YT apps on youtube-dl/yt-dlp these days, because a) they are usually the fastest to react to these changes and b) do it in a compatible way, meaning usage of the library/utility does not change.
yt-dlp has exact same issues its no different
Now I experience ‘No compatible formats found’ error for the most of videos
Just dont read the thread if you dont care about the app. Be thankful that there are still people actively developing apps for sfos because without them the os is dead.

I wonder if regenerating po token would help. If you’re on latest version and are able to modify files via terminal then edit ~/.config/microtube/microtube.conf and remove poToken and poTokenTimer then start app. I meant to add button that force regenerates it but i have limited amount of time
Also need to fix the title and channel parsing since switching to tv client that will also be coming… soonish
Ah no sorry i’ve confirmed it, even with clearing po token it doesn’t work. I guess youtube updated the tv client as well
Now unless there’s yet another workaround microtube will be broken until i spend considerable amount of time implementing new player (which everyone who knows what is needed to be done knows its insane amount of work)
ah no nevermind its working still. Close microtube, delete the po token so that its regenerated and then it should work just fine

Anyway, not sure it’s related to your issues, but starting today (maybe yesterday, but I only noticed it today) Newpipe on android cannot show videos at a higher resolution than 360p.
When stuff like this happens, it’s usually because Youtube changed something on their end.
Maybe that’s what’s messing with your player.
Man recently youtube’s been messing up with everyone and if anyone thinks that x thing works better is just mistaken. Any change in api affects everyone equally i literally pulled the workaround from yt-dlp xd
Everyone currently is working on the SABR and I’ll have too, till then i’ll just add button to regenerate po token cause that mechanism doesn’t seem to be working too well
So I wanted to go to sleep and watch some videos, I watched one and microtube broke, and i kid you not i’ve been in this exact situation MANY TIMES lately where at 3am i’m debugging what doesn’t work and the usual fix of regenerating po token sadly also doesn’t work. From what I’ve seen I’m not getting a single format. Could be youtube changes that lib has to fix. I’m also not sure if its just me or not
