Is it worth while to attempt to upgrade my Gemini?

I have a gemini, bought via Indiegogo in 2018. It has SF 3.0.1.13 (Sipoonkorpi). It doesn’t include phone functionality. I use it more or less the same way I used my Psions: i.e. mainly for editing text (in emacs)

I believe that I don’t have a paid-for SF licence.

For context, I do have SF on xperia 10 iii, paid-for.

My question is in two parts:

  • what would I get if I upgraded
  • can I upgrade, given that I don’t have the right licence.

  1. More recent system, less bugs.
  2. No, you have to reflash with the latest downloadable version.

TLDR: to thread title: imho surely it’s worth to keep this collectors piece alive.

You can update OTA, but there’s no GUI for it.

You can either use ssu re and version --dup, or the improved variant with sfos-upgrade from OpenRepos.
