Is it possible to install an Android application from an XAPK file?

I use a few Android applications on my XPERIA X under SF 3.3 with Android Support. Recently some apps are no longer avaiable for installation as an APK file but as an XAPK (even if they are for Android 4.4).
Is there any possibility to install via an XAPK file?
An example for such app is e.g.:

No idea really.
But looking up xapk I found this and that.
Maybe helps?

Hello,
thanks for the hints. Unfortunately neither renaming the XAPK to APK nor the useage of APKPURE worked for me.

I hope this ADA health app is only a showcase for you.
It has a very bad privacy record, as reported here (in German):

It is just an example. I tried to install it, because i was curious
Anyway, I don’t get any XAPK working.

https://m.apkpure.com/xapk-installer/com.apkpure.installer maybe… Worked for me before. Also, I think Mixplorer, (probably the best Android app ever), will do it, (click on file and click “install” in popup box)…

Thanks, I will try that.

Ahah thanks for the contribution
You will find some solutions here: https://together.jolla.com/question/203485/how-to-install-a-split-android-apk/
Jolla is aware of the issue, let’s hope they have a solution soon :crossed_fingers:

Ok I think my contribution was not very helpful neither, I’ve realized too late that XAPK and Split APK are two different things :grimacing: :stuck_out_tongue:
Then I think you could try the method described in one of Peter’s links:

  • Using the terminal, unzip your xapk file
  • Using the file explorer, install the main APK that’s inside.

EDIT: I can confirm that the method above worked with the XAPK of Uber Lite v1.107.
