Hello everyone, I recently bought the new Jolla phone. As long as it’s connected to Wi-Fi, all apps work fine, but when I insert the SIM card (Vodafone), some apps in Android App Support don’t connect to the internet. Could you please help me? Calls and SMS work fine.

Try enabling the following option in System Settings → Info → Android App Support (at the bottom of the list):
- Treat mobile data as WLAN
You may need to restart AAS afterward.

Hi, no, it’s not working. I reset the smartphone, but I had to use Wi-Fi to set it up as well. The first time, I didn’t insert the SIM card, assuming the apps in the Android container would work, but now I’m finding out that’s not the case.
I might be having the same problem with Discord running via AAS: It connects just fine if I use mobile data, but is unable to connect via Wifi. Removing the SIM card doesn’t change this, however.
Hello, you have the same problem as me, but in reverse. Unfortunately, in my case, many apps give me this issue. I just factory reset my phone, but no luck—everything only works on Wi-Fi.
Are you by any chance on Vodafone Romania as I am? I also have a similar issue. Check if your SIM is selected then check your APN settings. Finally, I managed to work around this by enabling airplane mode for 10s after enabling mobile data then disabling it back. I haven’t managed to find out why is it doing that though. I even went as far as getting a new SIM from them and the issue persisted.

Hi, thanks! Toggling airplane mode on and off was the solution! Unfortunately, I have to do it every time I turn the device back on, but that’s fine. I have a Vodafone IT SIM, but I used it with Ubuntu Touch and it didn’t give me any problems, so I think it’s Sailfish’s App Support. Thanks anyway!

Have you enabled “Start Android AppSupport automatically at boot”?
Maybe enabling or disabling this option could save you from having to use Airplane Mode every time you reboot your device. It’s worth a try.
