That thread does not help you transfer your Contacts list. I found the best way is to go to Android’s Contacts app, go to Organise, scroll down & tap “Export to file”.
That should give you a .vcf file, so copy it to your new SfOS phone, then go to the phone’s main Settings, Apps tab, People icon, and choose “From contact file”, etc.
(Transferring your local Calendars is also possible, if you aren’t syncing them with a cloud servicr.)
