Hutspot or other Spotify controller on JP 2026

Anybody succeeded on the above?

Can be installed from chum, but you need to manually install a library:

long thread, start from the bottom:
start here: Native Spotify on SailfishOS (with Hutspot/Librespot) - #43 by NIS

EDIT: there is also a how-to page on the sailmates wiki:

I’ve been using the combination of Hutspot (UI, get it from Chum) + Librespot (built myself) for four years now, still works perfectly fine. The already linked Wiki entry shows you how to do it.

If anything in this guide doesn’t work anymore, feel free to write me

Thank you very much for confirming!

I have updated the above Wiki page to clarify some things.
And I built the latest version 0.8.0 according to these instructions and everything works fine.

Has anybody else tries android spotify client with Jolla phone? I’m able to login normally, but can’t see any songs or podcasts. If I look any playlist spotify claims those are empty and can’t search anything. Worked perfectly with Xperia, but now can’t figure out what is the problem

edit. Would be lovely to get the librespot from chum/openrepos pre build

For me android spotify works as expected on jolla phone

Glad to hear! Then I just need to figure out what is happening…

For me it worked, but stopped to do so about 2 weeks ago. No clue why, unfortunately

Are you also using the Jolla phone?

Still struggling… Tried even older versions but nothing. I don’t see any songs, any pictures, all the playlists are empty and search just says “Something went wrong”.

To rule out things, could you answer for few questions I thought about, pretty please

  1. Is your UI language set to your local language?
  2. Do you locate in Europe or elsewhere?
  3. Do you have MicroG?
  4. Version of the spotify app?
  5. Did you play with any spotify settings or did it immediately work out of the box?
  6. Did you signin wihtout password?

Move the storage location to internal memory. Spotify does some weird thing with external storage that is not (yet?) supported. Amazon Music, on the other hand, works fine.

I suspect this is due to attributes with FAT32 formatted cards.

Genious!! Thank you so much of the help, this was the solution for me  Now it fully work, didn’t think it would automatically set storage location for sd card

Awesome!! this solved the problem also for me! Thank you

I use it on a C2 without problems, but it had issues under SF 5.0.68. My workaround at that time was uninstalling AAS and all Android apps and reinstalling it. After that I had no more issues till now and even after updating the OS not …
