Howto delete update file?

l can’t free up enough space for 5.1 on my Xperia 10 .

is it possible to delete the downloaded update file ?

So I could start over to free some space. There is almost nothing on that phone. I need 840 mb free space and I just have 715 mb. Any idea’s ?

Not sure if it helps, but have you tried SettingsUtilitiesReset application DB and then reboot?

Edit: I think the update packages are stored in /var/cache/pk-zypp-cache/, so you might want to take a look there also.

Thanks, but didn’t help. Can’t see /var/cache/… with jolla file browser.

Maybe Terminal or SSH connection works for you?

And what would deleting the downloaded update achieve?
The packages are downloaded to another partition than the target one for obvious reasons.

Somebody mentioned to first make up free space and after this to download the update - very important. I don’t know why , but I thought this could help.

There’s almost nothing on that phone and still not enough free space.

I think this someone needs to explain themselves before being taken seriously.

in here it was told

in “warning nr.1”

for shure a good guide, but to diffcult for me.

I think there is nothing I should uninstall from that list…

How about deinstall AAS? Would be a lot of work to install it afterwards to have it like it was.

Or reflash all - very last possibility for me?

It’s a friends phone, I don’t want to change much.

AAS is quite easy thing to gain space, here is instruction: Removing Android AppSupport | Sailfish OS Documentation

Not the worst advice in the world to do things in that order, but they are on different partitions and it really does not matter. It says nothing about removing the cached files though.

Thanks, but the clean deinstall didn’t work either. No free space.

I think I have to reflash.

If I do so, there is a sd card with pictures inside. Do I have to take it out and will I have access to these pictures when I’m done flashing and put it back in???

Or will it erase, format or destroy it in any way? When I put it back in?

Nothing did help to free up space. So I did a factory reset and installed all updates until now.
Now I have 2.3 GB free space instead of 0.7 GB before.
Pictures are all on sd Card and save.

My friend can keep on sailing again. …
