How to -- restart ofono -- due to hanged Phone app?

Hi,

Hope I am posting this in the right category.

I am running on C2 device and sometimes the phone-app stops working. Pressing a contact or trying to dial a number is not working. The app is just unresponsive. This has been on all software-upgrades on 5.0.0.xx. The only thing to do is to restart the device entirely to solve the problem.

So my question is how to restart phone-app or service? Ophone? Anybody know? Tried find the solution in the forum but didn’t.

Install sailfish utilities from jolla store. They contain the item restart network services

Probably something like systemctl restart ofono in the Terminal (enable Developer mode in the Settings to install Terminal) or install Sailfish Utilities from the Jolla Store. Sailfish Utilities adds new category to the Settings where you can restart your network subsystems.

There´s a patch in Patchmanager which restarts ofono.

It adds a restart option in pulldown menu in mobile network.

Best way to install Patchmanager, is to install Chum. Check this article to understand what it is and how to install it Installing and using Chum on Sailfish OS

Once you Chum installed, open it and search for patchmanager

Did according to your instructions. But the service is not supported since 5.0.0.67

see attached pic

I have the same problem, but it seems to happen with all the patches… (I’ve tried installing about 15 of them…) It’s as if all the patches were designed for version 5.0.0.67 and don’t support version 5.0.0.72…

You have to deactivate version testing in settings. I’Ve done it that way, had the same problem.

just as info why you have to disable the version check.
All the patches are for version 5.0.0.67 because you cant select 5.0.0.72 in openrepos upload formular (also upload should not include patch.json which specifies compatible versions) .

Oh, that explains a lot. In the meanwhile it´s become available. Thx.
