How to rename the photos stored into Gallery?

On both my C2 and my xperia-xa2 I’m not able to rename the photos I taken and stored into Gallery. Both of the smartphones are running SFOS 5.0.0.72.

Any help?

What did you try? I would recommend file browser or terminal

I tried using Gallery itself, in other OSs the “Gallery” app contains the rename functionality.

About File Browser, just after starting a Notice suggests me to download from OpenRepos a new version capable to acces files the current app is not able to access. That’s for me an uncommon way to communicate and I’m not confident to do the download: who is communicating with me? Jolla?

About the terminal I’m not comfortable with it.

i think pictures should be accessible with the usual inbuilt file browser or the version from jolla store

Greath ! You SOLVED my problem: I renamed using the stock File Browser.

The file browser in jolla store has sandboxing enabled (restricts access to specific folders), while the version in openrepos has sandboxing disabled (access all folders) and allows root mode (not sure about root though as I’m using the jolla store one).

The message about openrepos one is from the developer of the app
