How to provide download of a PDF in QML Application?

Hi,

i have an application that provides bus/u-bahn timestables for stations. In general, the app asks some questions, that will lead to a URL that will point to a PDF file. In the app i want to provide the option to download the PDF. How can i do this, in a way that the user is asked where to store the file. An example (from another app) would be nice.

Cheers,

Andreas

Maybe this can help here:

When i download podcasts in my radio app, i just throw them at Qt.openUrlExternally(), effectively letting the browser do the job.

@hanswf
I see no QML there?

Hi,

that actually works fine for me. the only shortcoming of this solution is the fact that a browser instance is opened (if it is not already there) and remains open. But that is something, i can live with.

Cheers,

Andreas
