How is your battery on SFOS 5?

The title says all. My battery is 3 month old and last longer since the update to 5.0.0.55 but compared to Android its not really impressive. From 90% to 10% in about 8 hours on standby.

I think also there is little progress on battery life. But very much to do yet.

For me on an xperia 10 III and SFOS 5.0.0.61, left the house 7am 79% 45 min music listening, 15 min internet, torch was on for 15-20 min and now i have 48%. Data on, wifi on, BT on and location was on continuously.

On what device?
Surely not the Xperia 10 (I) as the tag says?

Unless something goes awry in the background (and i should restart), i have plenty of battery left at the end of the day.
I have a 10 III that has been in use from day 1 of availability, which i charge to 90% during the night. Normal days i end at about 50% with moderate use. Not great; but certainly not terrible.

On full strength 4G signal at night, wifi off, bt off, from 100% to 91% at 8 hours along. Xa2, 5.0.0.61.
So, about 1% per hour in good network idle state. Not bad… But not good. 2-3% at night is best, i think.

Yes 2-3% at night only with Lineage OS…

Jeps… the first xperia 10 but with a new battery.

How did your old one perform? How do you know this one hasn’t been sitting on a shelf rotting since the 10 I was relevant? Unless something is stuck in a loop, or you have some especially heavy Android app doing background stuff, that sounds like unreasonably poor performance - and indeed like something is not right. Did you say you tried Android with the same phone and it was much better?

Thats bad imho
I can do two days onc2 when doing little
Overnight on airplane mode helps too.
Android is turned of mostly

I had to chrage 10 daily, when browsing internet even twice a day

On my Xperia 10 V I listen to YouTube in the browser for nearly the whole day and charge every night.
Because of the missing battery level support, I have no clue, how long it would last without plugin it in again.

Before the update, I managed to drain it in a day a couple of times and it happened maybe once since the update.

For me there is always this. If I keep on top of it (i.e. by killing voicecall UI after being called), I can last two days with my Xperia 10 V. I use it for an occasional web search, call, app use and listening to podcasts while cycling for an hour a day. (This is the quite similar to when I used the Xperia X.)

Thanks for your replies  I´m deactivating the android runtime for the night and see if that is the problem.

I have everything running, BT, Wifi etc.
Deactivated the Android runtime yesterday kl. 18:00 when the battery was charged to 70%
kl. 19:45 it was at 65%
kl. 9:30 the next morning it was at 9%

Thats about 4% per hour without activity. Normal or not ?

Definitely not normal. I daily drive X10III hard, incl. App Support, overnight drain on repeated :eye: observations is about ~10%.

i recommend to enable then disable bluetooth after boot because of bluebinder bug
do not let drain battery until Xperia V die for no power - it happens when battery voltage drops to 3V what it not good for battery life. use battInfo app for Xperia V to check actual voltage or approx percentage so you will know when to start charging

Xperia V: some calls, xmpp chat, music, mobile data (4G,5G), wifi at home, some web browsing, charging 1x 2-3days

For lock den here. I think my device is broken. Dont matter what i do it will not last very long. Flashed back to Android and got maybe 1-2 hours more out of it. But i keep it as a learning toy.

Use a day and charge over night mostly works. But in the evening charge level is 30%.
Have set charging limit 80% and power save 20% in accu settings. X10.

On my Jolla C2 typical 1,5-2 Days with heavy usage over the day (6-8h Radio-Stream with Bluetooth Headphone), Newspage readings 1-2h. Nighttime with Airplane-Mode on (~0,25%/h loss).

New record with 5.1.0.11 is 0,14%/h in flightmode, best before update was 0,19%/h.

I hope Jolla could archieve similar results for the Jollaphone 2026.

I have Xperia 10 iii , with sailfish 5.1.0.11.
I got higher battery consumption last months, I tried also deactivating android support / wifi / bluetooth, restarted several times etc. For some years now I use Battery Buddy to set charging limits and see Current mA consumption and battery temorature. years ago, I was getting 120~140 mA. Last months it was never going under 270~290 mA. And the problem except battery lasts less time, it also is that the battery gets warmer! A couple of weeks now I noticed that when I put the phone in airoplane mode, the consumption goes down to 120-140 mA again, even with Android support running and wifi /bluetooth activated. The only change I did also some months ago is that in Mobile Network I activated 4G calling (VoLTE) (it shows registered). I did some tests and deactivated without seeing any difference.

The consumption also drops during when I set Airplane mode - I checked the diagrams with SysMon app.

I use Crest to see tasks running, I don’t see anything uses a lot of cpu.

Has anyone else notice anything similar?
