[GUIDE] Increasing microphone volume in videos on Xperia 10 III (SailfishOS 5.0.0.72)

[ENGLISH]
Hi everyone, I’d like to share a small workaround I’ve implemented to fix the issue of very low microphone volume when recording videos on the Sony Xperia 10 III running SailfishOS 5.0.0.72.

In my case, the microphone works fine during calls, but videos, voice messages, and recordings made with the Recorder app were always far too quiet. After some testing, I found that increasing the PulseAudio source volume (the “gain”) to 200% finally makes the recordings audible, without introducing noticeable distortion.

Since PulseAudio resets its levels at every reboot, I created a small script that automatically applies the boost at session startup (specifically, after 30 seconds).

Me and many others have been using this work around on our X10III’s for a long time, except that I do increase the source volume to 300%, to get the recording volume true 100% like it is expected.

300% is not too much?

Thanks for the instructions. It also works well at 300% on an XA2.

Thx, in theory will works on every SailfishOS devices.

No it’s not, it’s perfect. Now I can actually lay my phone on the table and record a conversation (my use case) or whatever.

Ok, thx. In video I have some disturb.
