Great new Jolla phone and new users - no go!

And if you look very carefully (or actually, not much care needed, really), you’ll notice that the caption states “Arrangements used by Pavlov”.

Great point, thanks, didn’t see that

And he wasn’t the first one either!

Sheesh, it’s like the discussion about the first powered flight.

And the telephone… The reason why @ivanpetkov13 is not on my ignore list is, that he tries so hard to shed a little light and humor on our sad western lives.

The user is absolutely right; making the system accessible to the average user is essential. The best example is Valve, which adapted a Linux system to be accessible and calls it Steam OS. Is there a video showing the smartphone installing and using native apps as well as Android-compatible ones?

You just tap on any native app or apk and you click install. Do you really need a video for this in 2026?

I’m all in for more user friendly experience, but tapping on screen elements and pressing power/volume buttons don’t need explanations.

Tons. You would go for the how to unbox video first, won’t you?

Other videos also available in same playlist as this one.

OK. I hope the explanations are satisfactory. Unboxing is so so complex compared to installing apps.:upside_down_face:

conquered a Swedish territory, which had been regular target of Russian atrocities during the previous century, and left the Swedish-originating governmental structures mostly untouched since their efficiency was leaps and bounds ahead of the Russian serfdom-based agricultural society of the time

Fixed it for you.

Please avoid post about politics. Besides destructively polarising and it’s against Code of Conduct.

Yeah, true. How I wish there were none.

Actually that was not about politics, it was history.

Innocent history would be lovely, but unfortunately historical interpretations are doomed to be a tool of politics of nowadays - as they have been pretty much since the beginning of history.

True, but if you’re not a politician, you should be able to tell the difference between politics and history. Old politics also becomes history…
