GPS not working on apps like gpsinfo, only in csd tool (Xperia 10 III with SF OS 5.0.0.77)

It’s not a bug I think otherwise there would be more reports about this. So I put it in General.

I’m using a Xperia 10 III and Sailfish OS 5.0.0.77 but I might remember that I have this problem for a while.

If I open an app like gpsinfo or pure maps, no gps locator icon appears on the home screen and gps won’t work.

If I open the csd tool → individual tests and GPS, all is working fine. The gps icon appears, it searches for satelites and get geo coordinates. (I can see it in gpsinfo)

Then I close the csd tool, the gps icon disappear and gps won’t working again.

It’s really strange and I have no idea what could be wrong. Someone here having an idea?

If there are some missing informations don’t hesitate to ask.

This may be a stupid question but do you have location services enabled in the phone settings?

On Gpsinfo app the app claims the Gps to be on though I have not enabled the location from the settings, so that seems to be one possibility for the problem.

Jeah, that indication is broken.

omg, I was so stupid. Tried to optimize the gps settings and then I’ve made a stupid mistake.

rla88 post was helpful as the gpsinfo app don’t shows the corrent gps status. (I thought active is active but I and the app were wrong)

What was my problem: In the location settings I had activated location. That’s corrent

But: For tests I have activated “individual settings” in location settings and there it seems that I hadn’t activated gps, just hit the other two options. And then, gps will not go active.

And so it comes to the point were csd tool says “all fine” but it wasn’t for me.
