Found a working gcam for Xperia 10 iii with great results

Hello everyone . I am not sure if this has been posted or known but i found a gcm for xperia 10 iii which produces better photos than my old iPhone 11. Of course video doesn’t work , same as with opencamera.

Here is the link for it

https://xdaforums.com/t/gcam-for-xperia-10-iii.4311253/

Download the https://1-dontsharethislink.celsoazevedo.com/file/filesc/NGCam_7.4.104-v2.0_eng.apk

and then the attachment with the config. Install the apk. Using the terminal create a folder GCam under android_storage and inside that folder create another folder Configs7 . Copy the xml file into that folder. Open gcam and then double touch the black space next to the shutter button. Click restore and your are done.

130 MB for a camera app? I seriously ask myself when things start to go wrong.
Native Advanced Camera is 0,2MB.

Anything that improves on the native SFOS camera experience (including Advanced Camera¹) is a god-send IMO, even if it is 130MB.

¹ I don’t like criticizing other people’s hard work on SFOS apps but the camera performance has been one of my pet peeves

Well, the main hurdle since always has been being stuck on the Camera1 API for now.

It’s doable and usable, you can take pics and videos with it, but it’s clearly lacking for today’s standards. We should be kinda happy that hybris and stuff got this far, considering how has Android changed over the years and for worse.

As far as stuff goes though, there’s still ongoing work to make Camera2 hopefully working. (which is the preferred API for camera apps nowadays and the reason why Android camera apps perform better on AppSupport/Waydroid than the currently native stuff)
