Looks very promising, thank you for your effort!
I didnāt try the app yet but I have a question.
Is it not possible to offer within the app to download and later update all the extras that are necessary? As an example like microG, AAS etc when you setup j2. Searching, installing and updating separate things sounds a bit more complicated, but thatās just my personal opinion going through this thread.
Thanks again and Iām looking forward to trying your apps over the weekend!
Upon installation of the app it fetches yt-dlp and ffmpeg for you automatically.
You are then able to update the 3rd party apps whenever you please in the apps settings menu (Note: not automatically in the background)
Only manual install is the PO provider since it needs a javascript runtime to mint tokens locally
Basically, you get access to more videos and resolutions because the token lets you past youtubes bot blocking system.
I have just found that you should consider to add: Requires: git
to the app spec file. It is in standard Jolla repository so there is no problem with that. That helps an average user to cope with deno and PO.
Thanks, Iām a happy Camper now!
I have not received a reply re publishing this on chum:testing yet, but I would re-compile and re-submit the current commit of both repos? I think this app is very much usable and should be in Chum or any of the stores.
yt-dlp can do it, so itās in the realm of possibilites here as well.
I just donāt know if the media player involved can show them.
Well the thing is that it requires manual approval, so I want to make sure this is the version you want to make public and not bother them needlessly, esp. since youāre working a lot and fast.
And only you can decide if the current version is at a sort of stop point now.
Ah didnt know it was manual approval there, i mistakenly assumed the question was aimed at my approval.
Erm.. hard to say, i would say a good stopping point is here.. but there will be more and more reason to further develop as people request this and that
Good point. I havenāt been following closely but now that you mention it, @mister_magister was talking about trying to fix subtitles in the porters chat a few days ago. Maybe they donāt work natively currently.
Mainly because i didnt want to bother you with my slop haha
Vibecoding has a certain stigma to it, so id rather just reimplement stuff my way instead and let people decide on their own if they want to use my interpretation of things.
Well microtube/picoplayer can play SRT subtitles (and ONLY those for now). Maybe instead of implementing new player just use picoplayer/microtube player directly like Iāve done it in yottagram?
Huh. I found a strange one. When I am connected to my bt headphones with video playing, then turn off my headphones, video freezes and whole app crashes after few seconds. Looks like your app is trying to āhang onā for dear life onto that bt signal . Super strange bug. If you want, I can post app logs later
