As a returning user after the N900 and N9 I wonder the following. As SF supports finger print unlocking and it has AAS, would it be possible to use finger print in AAS? Let’s say I have a banking app for which I have to supply username and password, the username and password are stored in a password vault and upon opening the banking application the credentials are prefilled after finger print scanning.
Did search the topic but could not find a similar request.
Then a second topic which I throw also here due to space saving. I know there is some kind of power saving when SF is idle e.g. let’s say screen off. Is this done by off-lining cpu cores or any other different way?
It is technically possible, now with their new phone + AIDL direction makes it more likely than before because it’s cleaner and fits Jolla’s current HAL modernization efforts. However, it still requires meaningful engineering effort (especially building a proper bridge between the native sailfish-fpd and the Android biometric service inside the LXC container).
Adding another vote to support this request. This is imo a real quality of life feature that is lacking and would surely help adoption rates if implemented.
