Feedback on Xperia 10 V

Agree, impressive numbers

But keep in Mind the xz2c have only 2800mAh-Battery and is released 2018 (Snapdragon 845 with 4GB RAM) so you have to compare it to the 5000mAh-Battery of the Xperia 10V, and then 120mA doesn´t look bad.

And XZ2c is still more powerful

All services disabled, power consumption from 390 to 580 mAh - Battery buddy.

Which appears a lot compared to the idle of 120 - 180 mA that I got with my V.

So I did a test with my Xperia 10V.

I did charge it to full and then did a reboot and let it alone for around 19 hours, it is now at 55% after a reboot to get the current Battery percentage.

Standby: 60-247mA Power draw but mostly on the lower side.

The only App running was Battery Buddy and a sim was inserted and connected to the mobile Network and also WLAN. I also received a sms, but the Battery drain did not increase.

If I don’t touch it and my screen is on and Battery Buddy is open.

The Power draw is at 160- 230mA

If I use some Apps the Power draw increases to 190-360mA

Try turning of WLAN. That did miracles to my X 10 III.

If I turn of the Wifi the Power draw increases by a lot it’s now at around 300mA when only Battery Buddy is open and the Display is on and also the standby power draw seams to be higher

Yes, presumably; IIRC Jolla once stated that somewhere.

Yes, this should be denoted clearer and with minimal reasoning (as so many things) here:

The Sailfish installation note states one should make sure the phone actually works.

If you want pay special attention to privacy when installing SailfishOS you might use my guide:

Wow, that wasn’t expected, to put it mildly. I would have expected the opposite.

Hey, has anyone tested pure maps in combination with Sony Xperia 10 V? Does the navigation work?

yes i tested it. it works fine. gps positioning is also faster than on the xperia 10ii, most importantly it never crashes, like on the 10ii.

Agree, also with mine V GPS and PureMaps work fine without audio loss crash that the Xperia 10 iii experiences on regular basis

It seems, there is no relative modern hardware (max 3 years old) for stable Sailfish (with one inicial payment, no monthly, for the system) running with no needs to maintenance the system, just use it as daily device (only from time to time go for normal upgrade of system). In forum, maybe they’re only advanced users, who everytime solve some problem. Or am I wrong?

I tried GPS and it was very impressive how quickly it locked on to the signals (compared to my X10 or J1)

I presume there is no app or command line way to see battery charge? Other than rebooting the phone to reset the battery indicator. This would be a problem making my 10V my daily driver, I’d need to be sure I’d have enough battery when away from a charger.

My X10’s battery is in a poor condition after 5 years - the battery saving charging option came too late! I have to turn wifi off when I’m not using it to get through the day. Mobile data seems to use much less power than WLAN.

Battery saving charging really seems to work - I got a new laptop six months ago and enabled 80% charging limit straight away, battery health is still 100%. I’ll enable it on my 10V once I start using it.

Just reboot your phone before you go when there’s still enough time to charge and you could estimate how long it will last

Sure but for now it’s easier to stick with my X10 until the next update. I flashed Sailfish on my 10V and it works fine apart from the known issues.

Unfortunately, the camera is not working, and apkpure or any other apk too

Did you read the release notes?
