Feature Request: Different 'sets' or 'views' in the Calendar app

Having many different calendar sources the calendar view (esp. Month view, but also others) can get less useful as too many dots or calendar items appear.

Yes I can disable or enable the display of calendar sources, but that is a permanent setting.

Idea: In the calendar app, allow defining groups or sets of calendar sources, and switch the display between them.

So I would have a ‘work’ group, a ‘social’ group, a ‘personal’ group etc.

Switching the group displays only items from those groups.

Bonus ideas:

  • the dots in the overviews could become other symbols depending on group. Square, triangle, star, …
  • inactive groups, optionally, could be displayed in a dimmed way, similar to a free/busy display
  • Allow notifications/alarms to be toggled on/off per group
  • UI: There is little space left in the UI for new elements. But the PullUp Menu is still unused.

I would love to have colour coding! Like one calendar source has one color and other has another.

Ultimately I would like to have view where I can see beginning of the calendar mark text as that tells me exactly what it is. I have so many markings that I currently use 3rd party calendar because of this….

? That is already there! From Calendar, pull down to ‘Manage Calendars’, and assign the colours you like.

Just don’t expect the colours you set to stay the same forever! Every so often they just randomly change into completely different colours. I think it has something to do with remote calendars being added or removed, but it’s hard to troubleshoot.
