check out my reply in the other thread (Patches by ichthyosaurus - #146 by ichthyosaurus).
You just have to run the emoji-dl.sh script to download a style, and then copy the files to the right location on your phone. Don’t be intimidated, you don’t have to be too tech-savvy for that :).

Support for 5.2 is planned but will take more time because I don’t have capacity right now

Looking forward to this - the patchmanager explicitly states that the current patch, isn’t supported - and my phone is running SailfishOS 5.2
compatibility with 5.2 takes some work and I’m swamped at the moment, so it’ll take at least another few weeks. I’ll fix it at the latest once my phone gets the 5.2 update too

No worries, and no stressing I somehow, sometimes find myself “still” writing smilies the old-school style … sometimes, because it’s faster and it’s what I “grew up with” aaaaahahahahahah 
I might sound old (and I am??? just a few years below the 50’s)… but who doesn’t remember the old IRC days 
used BitchX a lot back then…
