Enabling AppSupport for Sony Xperia 10 IV and 10 V

Hi. How can I purchase the suscription to enable AppSupport?

It is now enabled for free for everyone, until Sony publishes working blobs and Jolla can make fully functional SFOS for these devices.

You might have to get the free “Free Trial for supported devices“ to your account from https://shop.jolla.com/ to download the flashing images if you haven’t done it yet.

So, I’m probably being slow, but I’m just wondering whether to bother upgrading my Xperia 10 IV to an xperia 10 V.

Currently both the licensed and free trial versions of SFOS have the same functionality and shortcomings on both Xperia 10 IV and Xperia 10 V?

Does the Xperia 10 V version have anything working better than the Xperia 10 IV?

Happy to get a new mobile (2nd hand of course) and a SAilfish license if it’s worth it.

Many thanks, forum.

To my understanding both IV & V are still in free trial period so neither has paid license option. And at least what I have understood from reading this forum both still have same shortcomings. Can’t comment from first hand experience about phone HW.

Raine announced dedicated post about that but he hasn’t published it yet. I guess your best bet is to wait a bit.

Regarding their specs, you will find they are almost identical, same chip, same everything (V has 0.1 inch larger screen, weight 3gram less, and slightly larger battery). The only difference is the camera, which does not work on both machine at the moment. So, except for the camera, I will be very very very surprised that the support to these machines result very different.

Anyone else have issues with AppSupport since the last patch? Mine has been failing to start since then.

This bug report is for 10 III, but it might still be the same bug you are facing. [10 III] [5.0.0.71] Android App Support does not start when “Start Android App Support when device starts” is enabled
