Emergency Broadcasts [Austria]

This is just to announce that I did receive a test alert today in Austria.

That is, my C2, Dual SIM, one set to 4G (no VoLTE) and one to 3G, did receive the test message.

My Xperia 10III, with SFOS 4.4, one SIM, 4G+VoLTE, did not.

This was the message:

Here’s a screenshot ( from little selfmade config tool) showing the settings:

My C2 did not react to the test alert today (provider spusu, in Vienna)

Any Idea what I could do receive alerts?

Why start yet another thread about this subject? All the other threads have shown it is nothing but random results. This thread indicates the same. Changing subscribed topics does not fix it, it is just trying what a former jolla employee suggested as a wild guess. In the community meeting of september 25, even Mal made clear he has no idea about this matter at the moment.

Well, you’re right in one sense.

But it may well be specific to networks, providers etc. And different countries use or may use different settings.

Also this was meant to report something positive for a change

On which provider and which network did you receive the alert?

I did not receive one on my Xperia 10 III with provider HoT in the Magenta-T network

Did it play a warning sound ?

Hi @nepros. Where are these settings to be found? Where does your tool get these informations from? I was looking for it and was not successfull.

my girlfriends c2 on spusu neither

and also my f(x) tec pro 1x on hot didn’t receive it

Actually I can’t tell.
There’s one SIM from One/Orange/Drei/Hutchkinson, set to 4G and mobile data, and one from SBudget (Magenta/TMobile) set to 3G and voice.

It’s ofono that manages this.

My tool uses the QML interface to ofono, but you can access it with dbus:

$ busctl introspect org.ofono /ril_0 org.ofono.CellBroadcast
NAME TYPE SIGNATURE RESULT/VALUE FLAGS
.GetProperties method - a{sv} -
.SetProperty method sv - -
.EmergencyBroadcast signal sa{sv} - -
.IncomingBroadcast signal sq - -
.PropertyChanged signal sv - -

Thx :+1: . Actually, mine was silent! ;-))

That´s what my phone tells using your lovely “alert-extension”!:ok_hand:

I just set the channels to 0-9999 like in the linked post with your tool. Now let´s wait for another year to test it! At least I hope “for another year”! :grimacing:

I just received a broadcast on my C2.

Weirdly enough, all the Androids and iPhones in my household got them this morning at around 8:00, while this arrived in the evening.

It is possibly because the device dropped from 3/4G to 2(.5) G?
