Duolingo does not log in anymore. AAS or microG related problem. At least one more app affected

After upgrading my Xperia 10 II to 5.0.0.73 the Duolingo app could not log in anymore (until that it had worked 1,5 years with no problems). (Also Chess app (called Checkmate) complains about play store and closes but I haven’t had real play store). I have tried several versions of microG, different settings in AAS but with no luck. MicroG settings show that Duolingo needs Device Attestation and this is OFF but I haven’t found a way to turn it on. Android forums are saying that this is a OS-related problem.

Since I thought that this is 5.0.0.73 problem, I flashed my Xperia 10 V with 5.0.0.72 and installed only the minimum things (AAS, microG, Duolingo, etc) but there is also exactly the same problem.

On both phones I tried the app called Signature Spoofing Checker (from F-droid). At first it shows disabled but then SFOS (AAS?) asks for permission to spoof signature and after giving it, the result is enabled and green. On the other hand Duolingo (and chess) isn’t asking for any permissions.

you can try the webpage Duolingo

I also have been using Duolingo on my Xperia 10ii using the default browser.
One problem I sometimes encountered; if I minimised the browser (back to cover) and then went back to browser, the page would reload, so if I was halfway through a lesson, I’d be thrown back to the start of the lesson, a lttle inconvenient but no biggy.

Wow, that’s strange! I tried to use Duolingo with a browser once (I’ve been using it before on the PC but not on the phone) and after that Duolingo and the chess app both started to work again and on both devices. Is there a possible connection or is it just a very strange coincidence…? I tried to fix it intentionally for days but nothing worked and now just like that it’s working again…
