I was advised to start a thread where app developers can request Swedish translations for their apps… so that is what I am doing here, following @frankps example.
However, there are some restrictions. I am not going to translate apps blindly. Being able to test my translation 100% is therefore an undeniable requirement.
As an example, I can mention NextCloud apps. I don’t have a NextCloud server, so if you want such an app translated, you need to give me access to a NextCloud server.
I don’t mind creating login on web services as long as it is free… even if I will never use the shit myself. But I do mind buying hardware/software (or login to intrusive services) just to be able to test my translations.
So all of you… please give me the next challenge, I will answer it!
Shit apps or services should probably go outside your priority list anyway. So if you write stuff I would never use even if it is not excluded by any other conditions of my potential engagement, it would be more informative instead of hurting pet project feelings unnecessarily hard?
Sure… I just wanted to make it clear. My manors aren’t political correct though, and they never will be. You can’t make an old dog sit.

I might add that I don’t mind shit apps at all. What I think is shit, might be very useful for someone else.
That is actually my point. I translate as a service…not to feed my ego.
We could provide Nextcloud access if needed, but probably better the app developer does it so the app is running latest version.
But it will get easier since we added another host machine during our service window this week that will only run podman containers.
So after our holiday we could potentially get you your own Nextcloud instance or what ever service in container you get requests for, to support your mission.
We will promote and sell hosting for a selected set in addition to Nextcloud et al in current offerings already, e.g. Discourse (could need some TLC), which are best deployed as containers, with this new machine in production.
That would be amazing. Lets just wait and see what I can do on my own. I can PM you if I need further assistance. I’ve been watching those NextCloud apps for a long time.

…and I am paying the most expensive internet connection there is in my country (Sweden) because they are monopolists… there is no alternatives where I live.
Do you want to know where I live? Well, it’s not like i live in the middle of nowhere. I actually live in the middle of Sweden, on the Varaslätt, Sweden’s cradle and granary. Where Sweden really began. Just check your history book… if you really have one. I am told that history isn’t even a thing these days.

Of course it counts. Göteborg is my hometown since birth, even though I haven’t lived there since forever. Gothenburg is still Sweden’s front page. (of course I know Stockholmers don’t agree with me)
Thank you! Nice initiative, and I would if it wasn’t that I have hundreds of them. I have been translating Sailfish apps since the very beginning. Not to mention apps generally… I think I’m at 1100 something, and counting.
Ok, I’m back from a few days of configuration of my new JP26 (wasn’t at all funny, just annoying ), and first translation out is SailCat (except some updates for older apps).
As this translation is fairly complicated and comprehensive, I would love help from other fellow Swedes to check the translation.
