[cTOH-M] - Clip based TOH with magentic mount

It took me 10 prototypes but I have finally reached a state I consider functional. The aim was to create a 3d printable TOH that stays largely within the dimensions of the Inari Blue TOH, but adds a metal ring on the inside to make it compatible with magentic mounting accessories (for “Magsafe”) on the market.

Nice. The stand seems to be designed for iphone, so the mount should be compatible with basically everything. I also had kind of the same idea, printing a TOH that integrates the magnet from a fiio magclip.

Indeed. The TOH should work with any accessories that work for an iPhone, for mounting that is, this design lacks any wireless charging

PS: The magnets are in the magsafe accerories, the TOH merely needs the respective metal ring.

Printed this and ive been really liking it, however I think the magnet ring could be a bit stronger. Should probably look on aliexpress for magnet rings

Interesting. To me it feels like a good strength for my use cases but I have no idea what people expect from a magsafe connection.

The cavity fits metal rings up to 0.7 mm in thickness. If you can find one as wide but with 0.7 mm, it should increase the strength of connectcion.

Alternatively, maybe you find a magsafe ring with stronger magnets.

You could also reduce the wall thickness under the metal ring from 0.6 to 0.5 or 0.4 mm. That should make the connection stronger, but that might be too thin for ASA to not sag in, get stress marks or crack. An option would be something like Prusa’s PC Blend, that one should be just fine with 0.4 mm.

The nuclear option would be to put the cavity on the outside and glue the metal ring into place. Then the connection will be much stronger but you’ll have rely on the glue to hold the exposed ring.
