Connection to new wifi network requires restart of network stack

REGRESSION: Connection to another or new wifi is not possible without modifications

DESCRIPTION:

After changing locating, the phone still shows it would be connected to the WIFI of the previously connected WIFI. As the WIFI in the current location is already know, it should auto connect to the available known WIFI.

PRECONDITIONS:

Change of location, so that one gets out of range of a known wifi and reaches another known wifi.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE:

EXPECTED RESULT:

Automatically connecting to a known network and disconnecting when out of range.

ACTUAL RESULT:

Phone still shows being connected to a wifi network which is completely out of range at the current location. To connect to the wifi within range the following steps are needed:

  1. disable wifi
  2. restart network stack
  3. enable wifi
    (4. connect to new unknown wifi of device)

OS update 5.0.0.55 (*) contains this fix:
“WLAN networks did not update properly without toggling WLAN off/on. Timeout for the scheduled scan was added.”

This fix probably eliminates the reported issue.
