IV is not ideal but it is currently my daily driver. If I could make a private phone call without having to use a bluetooth headset and could take a photo when the mood struck me, I’d be fine with it.
Do you have any problems with charging/discharging the device?
Yes. Another thing that isn’t ideal but I can live with it.
Battery life is fine, but I wish I could set an 80% charge limit as I end every day with 50% and if I don’t charge overnight that will drain to ~30%, which isn’t enough for another day.
Every morning when I unplug the phone, it will reboot when the screen first turns off. Again, far from ideal but as I generally only charge overnight I can live with a reboot once every morning.
you can yous the battinfo app from openrepos. it showes voltage and estimated percentage on app cover. battInfo for Xperia 10V | OpenRepos.net — Community Repository System
My phone shows battery percentage in the top left of the screen. This is not an issue.
Actually this is not needed anymore for 10 V with newer blobs.
But aren’t there negative side effects compared to the older blobs?
I’m in the same boat as you, I’ve given up on Sailfish which is a shame but that’s how it is. You seem to have experience with various alternate OSes. Is there an OS and phone you would recommend that has surprised you or is particular versatile/useful. Bascially what do you recommend when it comes to alternate operating systems.
I use a Sony Xperia 5 (Bahamut) with Droidian as my daily device.
Positive:
Waydroid runs seamlessly
Device encryption
Camera works
Fingerprint sensor
HDMI output for convergence
Converse:
BT hands-free calling only has a speakerphone, no microphone
No dual SIM
