Community meeting on 8th May 2025

Schedule: Thursday 2025-05-08T07:00:00Z   :world_map: :date:

Sailfish OS Community Calendar (ICS format)

Topic proposals for the meeting:

  • Add your name/nick using the template below to suggest a topic.
  • Indicate how much time you’ll need so we can time-box the meeting accordingly.
  • Please be as thorough as you can with your question/topic.
  • If you can’t make the meeting please ask and name a substitute.

It is expected that you show up and present your topic, or name a substitute and make sure they attend in your absence. These IRC meetings are for real time participation and live discussions, otherwise you can post the topic on here and get responses that way.

We need you to be present to clarify details in the topic, and to ensure the discussion is leading to the answers you are looking for! If you do not participate or your question/topic isn’t clear enough it will be postponed. Also: always ask for more time than you anticipate your topic needs!

Please have your topics ready at least 3 days before the meeting so we can prepare good answers. Topics announced afterwards will be postponed to the next meeting.

Is the date and time correct in this calendar entry?

The one for yesterday was wrong and I missed the meeting because the calendar gave me the notification one hour late.

@dcaliste fixed it Update community.ics for summer time by dcaliste · Pull Request #440 · sailfishos/docs.sailfishos.org · GitHub and that’s already merged.

What does that mean?

Is the time and date correct in the calendar file from the link you posted?
If I add it to my Jolla calendar, will it be correct?

This got fixed https://docs.sailfishos.org/Support/community.ics

Ok. I will import this one, but the one in the post should be fixed too, because that is the one people see.

Are the times of the other two events in the calendar file correct?

The one in the post got fixed with the same change request. It’s 7:00 AM UTC.

Ok, it looks like the one in the post has now also been fixed.

What about the other two events in the calendar file?
Are their times correct?

I want to propose a topic, but I don’t know how to estimate the approximate time needed for the topic.

If I understand correctly from the few community meetings logs that I have read, people ask some questions here and they get official answers from Jolla in the IRC chat.
In this context, what exactly am I supposed to estimate?

Which time is it ? UT? I am in Est African Time: UT+3, I’d like to follow the IRC meeting.

If you open the calendar file (the .ics file) from the top post, it should convert the time and date to your local time.

The time of the community meeting has been fixed recently (last week it was wrong).
But the time of the other two events in the calendar file might still be wrong.
Nobody replied when I asked if those are correct or not.

Thank so much in the meantime I found. It will be 12:00 AM in my local time.

In the first message you can find this.

If you click that time you get different timezones. Also if you click that map emoji, you get to a website where you can check the time for any place. If I read it correctly, in Eastern African Time (EAT, UTC+3) that would be 10 o’clock.
