There should be an option for marking a topic as closed. In particular for a question that did not get a real answer but is done or not relevant anymore. I just tried to write [closed] to the title but it was not editable anymore. So if that is not possible, there should be another function.
There is, but normal users don’t have access to it. You can flag your post and ask a moderator to close it.
